Baywatch showcased many stars throughout its eleven-season run, one of which was Michael Newman. The franchise alum played a character who also had his name and ultimately became one of the stalwart members of the cast.

“Baywatch” actor Michael Newman died on Sunday, Oct. 20, after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2006, his director and friend confirmed. He was 68. Matthew Felker, Newman’s close friend and director of the recent Hulu docuseries “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun ,” confirmed the news on his Instagram Oct. 21.

He started out on the David Hasselhoff series as a stuntman and technical adviser and stuck around for 10 seasons.
