Sunday was a big day for Edmonton Oilers superstar forward Leon Draisaitl, as it was his 29th birthday. However, he was not able to celebrate it entirely off the ice, as the Oilers had a scheduled game against the Detroit Wings on the road.

Leon Draisaitl scored in overtime to cap a two-goal, three-point performance on his 29th birthday and give the visiting Edmonton Oilers a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. Evan Bouchard scored once and added an assist while Mattias Ekholm and Connor McDavid each tallied two helpers for Edmonton.

Not only did the Oilers pull out an overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings to pull themselves to 4-4-1, but Draisaitl contributed two goals, including the game-winner, on his 29th birthday.
