Aleksei Kolosov became the first Belarusian-born goalie in NHL history Sunday night when he started for the Philadelphia Flyers against the Montreal Canadiens. The 22-year-old Kolosov was recalled by the Flyers on Saturday night and immediately inserted into the lineup against Montreal.

Aleksei Kolosov couldn't save the Flyers from their up-and-down play. John Tortorella's club wasn't sharp or connected at all and had to play far too much defense in a 4-3 loss Sunday night to the Canadiens at the Wells Fargo Center.

Maybe The Grateful Dead said it best, What a Long Strange Trip It’s Been. For goaltender Aleksei Kolosov, his trip to the NHL is heading straight down the Blue Route and into the Wells Fargo Center. The Flyers have recalled Kolosov and defenseman Emil Andrae from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League.
